The
functions of Chemical Engineering division are as
follows:
- Teaching
chemical engineering to various post
graduate and post diploma courses on
Alcohol Technology, Sugar Technology and
Sugar Engineering
- Research in
chemical engineering aspects of sugar
manufacture.
- To render
technical advice to sugar and allied
industries.
The areas of core
competency of this division include process
design and development, computer aided process
engineering with particular emphasis on Mass
& Energy Balance computation, preparation of
PFD and P&ID, pipeline sizing, heat and mass
transfer equipment including multiple effect
evaporator & evaporator auxillaries and solid
liquid separation equipment sizing and
design.
This division is also looking after the
implementation of Information technology in the
institute including website, networking
etc.
